Today is Tidbit Tuesday! If you've recently started following then you may be wondering what that means. It's a day when I share something random. It can be anything really; a fun fact, a tip of sorts... Generally these posts are shorter. There are so many good "tidbits" out there! Many of them are being pinned at this very moment on Pinterest.
I encourage you to share your tidbits on my Facebook page or e-mail me. I would love to feature you and your tidbit on my blog! It doesn't matter if you have a blog of your own or not. If you do, all the better because then your blog will be featured too!
Anyway back to today's tidbit. Those of you who are on Facebook have probably noticed all the changes. People are very passionate about liking or not liking the timeline. I'm indifferent...I will say that the new cover photo and mini photo did throw me off though. Every time I added a new picture it was either entirely too stretched out or completely off center. I kept changing my cover photo over and over because it just never looked right. I thought I had some really great pictures but something wonky kept happening when they got fully uploaded. Am I the only one who's experienced this issue?
Then I realized if I just knew the dimensions of the spaces that would make uploading a photo a whole lot easier. Hopefully it will make things easier for you too! All you need to do is open up your favorite photo editing program. If you don't have one Picasa is free and works really well. You can download it HERE.
The mini picture is 180 x 180 pixels. |
Then you just need to create a blank canvas; the mini picture is 180 x 180 pixels and the cover photo is 850 x 320 pixels. After your canvas is created then you place your picture or pictures. If you don't have anything that looks good cropped to those dimensions then just create a collage of pictures. That's what I did for my Facebook Page and I think it turned out pretty well. I chose a smorgasbord of photos that I've used in blog posts. I didn't even spend much time on it.
The cover photo size is 850 x 320 pixels. |
If you have any questions I'd be happy to help you out.
I'm looking forward to reading your tidbits!
