Omaha Clayworks Spring Sale

Hello Friends!

This weekend the studio where I have the privilege of throwing pottery is having it's annual Spring Sale. The best part is I'll a have a few pieces in the sale! This will be the first time I've sold my pottery. I'm looking forward to seeing what the response is. I've made a bunch of tiny pots like the ones below.

I really enjoy making the smaller pots. It's a great way to test out the glaze but still have a piece that can be enjoyed. I also have some other random pieces and a series that I've been working on but haven't shared yet on my blog. Unfortunately the series I've been working on has been a "hot" topic. People feel they have a right to determine what is or isn't art. I find it fascinating that a piece of clay that's been thrown on the ground and distorted is considered art or even mistakes are instantly art but something that's thought through and expressive is not. I can't wait to share with you what I've been working on but I'm still keeping it a secret.

If you happen to be in the area you should definitely stop by Omaha Clayworks! Or if you are ever in the area in the future make sure to plan a visit. There is always work on display in the gallery. It's all handmade by the amazing artists who rent space at the studio.

  1. I don't know if I mentioned it, but I really love Omaha, there is something about it I really enjoyed! Everytime we ate out, we loved everything and I adored the downtown area...

I hope it goes well for you this weekend, pretty pieces!!!
