Tidbit Tuesday (Too much candy?)

Did you take your children Trick or Treating this Halloween? Did they come home from a school party with a goody bag? I don't have children yet but I can imagine the amount of candy that is accumulated from Halloween festivities. There are lots of ideas out there of things you can do with your candy including recipes and crafts. Apparently the average American consumes over 20 pounds of candy a year...YIKES!

I heard about a program called the Halloween Candy Buy Back. It's a program that dentists participate in and they "buy" back candy with cash, coupons and other creative exchanges. The candy that they collect is then sent to Operation Gratitude who sends the candy to U.S. troops overseas. I thought this was a really neat idea! You can find out more information and even locate a participating dentist near you by clicking HERE
