Blossoms & Trees

It's week 3 of the Leap Into Spring Photo Challenge I've been participating in, the theme is Blossoms & Trees. Have you been experiencing blooming trees where you live? If you haven't I hope that my photographs can make you feel as if you have. Springtime is so rejuvenating. I've really enjoyed capturing this theme. I would love to know which photo you connect with the most.

I was snapping away with my camera when I realized what I was actually seeing. Cocoons! I've never seen them out in nature like this. Have you? It was amazing!

I have fond memories of raising butterflies with my 3rd grade class last year. I can remember them running to the classroom every morning to observe the cocoons. It was so exciting when they started shaking like crazy. We didn't want to do anything else but watch the cocoons. I sure miss my students.

  4. These are beautiful! And, no, I haven't seen cocoons in nature before either. I'll have to keep my eyes open! I love the quote on the bud and also the close-up of the purple flower. (I'm partial to purple). But they are all awesome shots.

  7. What beautiful captures! Those shots of the cocoons are fascinating...until you mentioned what they were, I just assumed they were pods on the tree! Amazing. Thank you for sharing, and that's one of my favorite quotes. :)

  10. Just stopping by from Leap Into Spring and I'm so glad I did! I am in love with that quote!
Also, how cool is it that you were able to capture those cocoons? I have a friend that has a butterfly "station" as she calls it. There is a huge section of her yard with milkweed and the butterflies love it. I believe that is what the cocoons are attached to in your photo! Way cool!
