Stamping with Corks

My husband often complains about the overflowing cork collection that I have. He keeps asking me when I'm going to do something with them. I really want to make a back splash, in the kitchen I don't have yet, therefore I need to keep collecting lots of corks.

Blanca loves to get in the way when I'm taking pictures.

I especially love interesting corks, like these with animals on them!

Recently I decided that I could spare a few corks to try out as stamps. I originally thought about carving out designs or shapes but then I realized what a beautiful texture the cork already makes without doing anything.

I had too much fun using the corks as stamps. It's super easy. All that you need is: a variety of corks, ink pads, something you want to stamp on like blank cards or envelopes and markers for adding details. The possibilities for things that you can create from cork stamping are endless. Here are some examples of cards that I made.

I thought these were fun background textures and other things could be layered on top later.

I created the tree by using the edges of the cork.

The edge of the cork makes great lines.
